THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT TOUCHES SOULS

Bronson draws routine comparisons to some of the most legendary singer-songwriters in history (Neil Young, Cat Stevens, Dylan, Lennon) but astute critics are careful to point out that while there are clear echoes of these timeless artists, Bronson has forged a fully modern sound all his own.

According to Guitar World Magazine, “In the 2 years since anyone first heard anything of David Bronson, he’s established a national touring regimen and growing fan base in the U.S. and abroad, released an abnormally large catalogue of artistically-driven and critically lauded music videos, and been hailed by hundreds of music writers and publications both in the U.S. and across Europe as one of the most heartfelt and emotionally raw new artists in music.”

Questions saw Bronson move from the deeply textured, almost psychedelic indie folk rock of his first two albums (which together formed the dual album cycle The Long Lost Story) into a fluid amalgam of soul, gospel, folk, and dance-funk grafted onto the more classic, 70’s-infused songwriting he’d become known for. Joined by veteran producer Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Aerosmith) and rock world luminaries Carlos Alomar and Robin Clark (David Bowie, Alicia Keys, Mark Ronson, Simple Minds), as well as Bronson’s crack band, the album represents a major evolution in Bronson’s sound and artistry.

Bronson, known for writing highly autobiographical material, has been lauded for “never attempting to avoid the heavy things”. His lyrical output has been likened to artists like Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley for its plumbing of emotional and psychological depths, while never losing a wry down-to-Earthness, “a sort of eloquent steet philosophy” that has found deep resonance in many hearts and souls.

Until the Other Half Learns to Wonder, a collaborative album by Bronson and electronic-based artist Simone Ghetti, is set for release in 2027.
